Questions and Concerns
| We have been listening to
your questions and concerns, and want to address some of the
common ones here. |
|
1. I am
concerned about getting seasick.
The BVI is good
for first-time sailors. Seasickness is more common in big bodies
of water (the Pacific Ocean for example can be really tumultuous) and in
open seas. We are in sheltered waters -- sheltered from the ocean
by the many nearby islands -- which block the larger swells. There will be
waves and wearing "the patch" (Scopolamine) will be a good
insurance policy for those who are concerned.

2. We want to have a romantic
sail and we want some alone time.
Look at our page on honeymoons.
It outlines various ways we can provide a setting for romance. You
can have candlelight dinners, snorkel holding hands and looking at
beautiful fish, use opportunities offered for time for just the
"two" of you. We may also leave you on the boat alone
occasionally when we need to be on shore at the anchorage. |
|
3. We don't know who the
other couple will be.
- There may NOT be another
couple. We may not sell the other cabin....... or you can
rent the boat alone.
- Try approaching another friend or
relative couple.
- But most importantly, people that are interested in
sailing are usually adventurous, flexible, and fun-loving
people. What better way to make new friends?
- The yacht is large enough to spread
out on the bow, on deck, in the cockpit, or in the cabin.
- When we are at anchor you can feel
free to be by yourself at a restaurant, on shore or remain in the
boat alone.
- You can take the dinghy to shore by
yourself or we can take you where you want to go. If you are
ready to be picked up to return to the yacht, just call us on the
portable two-way radio that we provide to our guests.
- You are coming on vacation to be
with each other. Everyone should have their own space and we
will cover that in our boat briefing before we set sail. If
you want to join in a group activity that's fine, but you should
feel free to say no.
